Nino Shatberashvili is a founder and board member of the Georgian Association of Social Workers. Currently she is elected as a chairperson of the organization. The association was found in 2005 and currently is the only professional organization in the country. 

Nino Shatberashvili is a Doctor in social work and social policy. She is graduate of Ljubljana University. She studied in five European universities within the international doctoral programme of social work and social policy, INDOSOW in 2007-2010. Her research interest was focused on the role of social services in poverty reduction. Shatberashvili graduated with a Master of Science degree in Social Work from Columbia University in the city of New York: Major in Social Work, with Social Policy concentration, Minor in International Social Welfare.   

Nino Shatberashvili has diverse professional and working experience in state as well as non-state sector. At the given moment, she is an only national social worker who was leading top management position in statutory sector. She was a head of the Rehabilitation Programme Division in the National Probation Agency, Ministry of Correction and Penitentiary.

Her social work experience is diverse too. She has worked on micro and macro levels. Both in Georgia and the United States, it involves working with children and their families in out-of-home-care service programs and on deinstitutionalization policy, juveniles in conflict with the law, women, intercountry adoption issues,  standards of accreditation of social service agencies. She is the author of the social researches with the emphasis on social work services in the social problem elimination of various target groups. 

Nino Shatberashvili actively participated in the development of BA and MA education programs  in Social Work in Georgia, both at  Ivane Javakhishvili  Tbilisi State University and Ilia Chavchavadze Tbilisi State Universities to BA and MA students. She is an assistant-professor at Tbilisi State Ivane Javakhishvili  Tbilisi State University. She teaches Social Welfare Policy, International Social Welfare, International Social Work and Social Advocacy Courses both at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and Ilia Chavchavadze Tbilisi State Universities to BA and MA students. At the same time she leads Practice Placement Coordination of MA Social Work faculty students.
 

Salome Namitcheishvili is a co-founder, board member and former chairperson (2008-2013) of Georgian Association of Social Workers. She is committed to the social work development in her role as a social work activist and one of the first pioneer qualified social workers in Georgia.

Ia Shekriladze is a deputy chairperson (formerly director from 04/2015 – 05/2016), co-founder and board member of Georgian Association of Social Workers. She has a graduate degree in Psychology, and Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in the city of New York. She is a USA (State of California) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Natia Partskhaladze has 15 years of experience in the field of child and social protection systems, alternative care and social service workforce strengthening, at both the policy and programming levels. She is a co-founder and a Board Member of the Georgian Association of Social Workers and served as a President of GASW in 2014-2015.

Shorena Sadzaglishvili is a co-founder, board member and senior clinical social work/ research consultant at GASW. Shorena Sadzaglishvili holds a MSW from Columbia University and Doctorate in Psychology from Dr. Uznadze Institute of Psychology of Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Tbilisi, Georgia.
